I studied painting and have a BA Hons (2:1) in Fine Art. I paint in oils, often on large canvases. My paintings are extremely colourful and vibrant; many are floral and organic in subject matter. I draw inspiration from the landscape and from the impact of the changing seasons on landscape. Oil painting is a very exciting and expressive medium. My paintings are abstract; sometimes figurative, and many retain figurative elements within them. I also paint figures and interiors and often paint from photographs with a nostalgic element wherein the subject matter is more meaningful. The painting has to work in all aspects. I want to achieve something beautiful with the paint. I want the paint itself to communicate; there has to be life within it. |
