Karl Robinson
I first started drawing and painting as a teenager and found a real love for the unusual. Life then took over and I didn't pick up a pencil until around 3 years ago. I experimented with different mediums and found that pouring paints/acrylics is where my passion lies. I am inspired by anything colourful or unusual and enjoy experimenting with different techniques. I have attended several workshops with established local artists including resident artist at Buxton Opera House, Pam Smart, and Tim Frost at TC Art Studio. One of my inspirations is American artist Paul Jenkins (1923 to 2012) who was a pioneer of fluid art and produced some amazing colourful work. My work ranges from large-scale to miniature, with unframed, framed and mounted art works for sale at The Green Man. I have a purpose-built studio in my garden and you will also find me working at the gallery where I share a studio with Chris Ray. |
