Emma Strong
My artistic practice follows the flow of intuitive drawing and play, drawing from dreams, nightmares and the (deep) imaginary. I am influenced by dreams, surrealism, post-modernism principles of creation, child-play, the female body, connections between humans, nature and technology.
I am a drawer, painter, videographer, performer and clay sculptor. My drawings influence my performances and vice-versa. I recently completed a degree in Fine Arts i South Africa and have moved to Buxton. At university I focused in on performance and videography (as seen on my website) but this year I plan to zone into the wonderful world of drawing and painting. I lean towards abstracted forms and imagery, allowing viewers to only gently make out what is produced on paper or canvas. I love to keep my work open to interpretation, allowing the viewer to find all sorts of imagery within. Email: [email protected] |
