Just Joy, 2020 – Arrangement of AVAAR (1-V
Acrylic, tissue paper, plaster, ink, chalk, crayon, wax, poster paint and PVA on cotton
70 x 110cm (individual paintings all 30 x 40cm) £1,000 for the arrangement or £500 individually
Samuel Shaw is an Alumnus of Central Saint Martins. To articulate his artistic practice he finds the form of poetic verse is appropriate:
Nowadays we are familiar with abstract painting.
Our visual literacy is quite sophisticated now.
Take a look back at the day to how you navigated here.
All the signs and symbols you interpreted to place yourself here.
I contemplate how we think about people, place and things.
Developing understanding.
When I feel I do,
Holding gently,
I make an artwork.
Then I share it.

Moving In
Oil on canvas panel 50 x 40cm framed £400
The inspiration for this piece came from one particular day whilst out walking. The clouds were starting to roll in over the land gradually growing darker, whilst the sun continued to shine over the hills, lighting them up and illuminating the many colours against the contrasting dark sky.
I work in oils because of the textures that can be achieved. I layer up colour palettes using knives and brushes, applying layers and taking off layers before adding the final details.
Horizons and contrasts between sky, land and sea fascinates me and gives endless inspiration for my work.

Shuttlingsloe in Summer
Acrylic on canvas 69 x 51cm framed £120
This painting was created at a workshop directed by local artist Pam Smart and uses a limited palette of harmonious colours to convey the warmth of summer. The stylised landscape is loosely based on the scenery around Shuttlingsloe in Cheshire.
I enjoy experimenting in different media including collage and am a long-standing member of Burbage Art Group. I also attend classes run by David Woodrow and take part in full-day workshops when I can. I am active on Instagram and love following other artists from all over the world. I look forward to being part of the Buxton Spa Prize exhibition and my work will also be displayed at Burbage Art Group's Annual Exhibition on Sunday July 12th and throughout the Fringe at Hargreaves tearooms,

A. ZA Miles 5
3D frame-mounted sculpture 26 x 26cm framed £35
This piece is a collaboration with Tracy Poole, who is blind. She gives her interpretations of the piece in an accompanying haiku-like poem (to come).
B. ZA Petit Lovers
3D frame-mounted sculpture 63 x 63cm framed £95
Tony Bingham is passionate about using recycled and found materials together with the acrylic resin ‘Jesmonite’ to produce free standing and frame mounted abstract sculpture. He is keen to use discarded items and his favourite materials are wood, plastics and metal. He frequently uses discarded items, which are taken apart, recut and reassembled into abstract forms.
His work has been widely exhibited in the North West. He is always experimenting with new ways of creating art works using materials as diverse as copper, enamels and bamboo.
