A. A Good Year
Oil on board 42 x 59cm framed £595
Over recent months I have been focussing my work on detailed observation and realism in my still life painting. Partly this is as an exercise in observing which helps with the rest of my output and partly because, if I can find the right image, it really appeals to my artistic core. If there is a sharp contrast in lighting and a challenging form I am usually inspired to rise to the challenge. Both of these elements are present in this composition.
B. Remembrance
Oil on board 25.5 x 31cm framed £325
In my current work phase focussing on still life I am always looking for compositions that are suggested by using everyday articles with hidden deeper meanings. Here a paper remembrance day poppy under strong artificial light was the start, the trigger to put some simple objects together.
I used horse chestnuts, available around November, to pick up on the theme of remembrance and suggest renewal. I also like to include a reflective or glass object in my still life for added interest and interesting light.

A. Coastal Cottages, Rhosneigr
Oil on canvas 21 x 17 inches framed £120
B. Whispering Ocean, Rhosneigr
Oil on canvas 70 x 55cm framed £169
I am primarily a landscape painter based in Cheshire. I am an active member of Altrincham Society if Artists. My paintings are an emotional response to my immediate surroundings be it urban, coast or country. Wales is a favourite source of inspiration. I sketch and paint on location whenever possible, mainly in oil, acrylic, watercolour or pen and ink. However I love to experiment with different media and subject matter so often attend painting breaks it work more intensely in my studio.

A. Crescent Figure
Bronze cast sculpture on stone base Base 10 x 10cm. Height 37cm £1,300
I am working in fine art sculpture predominantly creating 3D printed abstract sculpture from desktop size to large outdoor sculpture.
The Crescent Figure explores the creative potential of old and new technologies in a celebration and reverence of the creative process. Matt considers how technologies and process inform the development and expression of ideas.
B. Pebble
3D printed sculpture Base 10 x 20cm. Height 23 cm £350
It is this ethereal quality I strive to evoke via a process of making that is driven by my passion for digital technologies. Such modern tools provide new ways to explore the natural world. To me, they encapsulate all that is beautiful and pure.

A. Derbyshire Delights (Awaiting image)
Acrylic, wood, board and resin 67 x 67cm £275
As I am a total sweetie lover, this piece was great to paint. Full of vibrant colour and pure fun. Takes me back to being a child.
B. Love Lives Here (Awaiting image)
Acrylic, wood, resin 12 x 24 inches £150
I love to experiment with new media and materials, I think it’s important to always try to push yourself. In this piece I used some new spraying techniques that I have been practising. The resin really brings this painting to life, highlighting the contrast of the red hearts with the blue skies.
