Blue Diadem
Digital trigger image of a virtual reality drawn artwork that can be seen through the augmented reality app ARize. Available as a digital print.      45 x 45cm     £45  each

Jacki Clark is a multi-disciplinary fine artist who works in both analogue and digital mediums.
She is currently creating artwork in virtual reality, these images are three dimensional and can be either viewed via a headset or through Augmented Reality whereas a trigger image is supplied and the app ARize is loaded onto a phone. By opening up the app and scanning the trigger picture, the virtual reality 3D image can be seen, enlarged and in some cases, walked through.

Examples of her work have recently been shown in the last twelve months. at the XR Art Show in San Diego, Lightwaves Festival at Salford Quays, LIT festival in Macclesfield, Pandemonium at Macclesfield Museum and the RHS show at Tatton Park.

She has a studio in Macclesfield and is a member of twentysevenb, The Print Mill, Immersives NW and VRManchester.

For the live exhibition, Jacki planned to supply a hi-resolution quality print of my virtual reality artwork. This would have been be hung as a normal artwork on the wall. Viewers would use the app to scan the artwork to bring it to life so that it appears three dimensionally.  Jacki will sell quality signed limited edition high resolution prints of the artwork so that people can use the app at home to view.

12. Jan Hoyle
Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire
purlbag@icloud.com

South Head
Felt        40 x 28cm framed            £160

Jan Hoyle uses fibre as an expressive art form to create images of landscapes. She is particularly interested in the blending and layering of coloured fibres to suggest light and texture in her work. The process she uses is wet felting with needle felting and sometimes stitch to enhance aspects of the pieces. Merino wool is the primary material but she also adds other fibres and fabric to create different effects in her work.

She draws her inspiration from the local landscape of the Peak District.

I am a painter and printmaker based in Altrincham. I work in various media including acrylics, oils, pastel and mixed media. I also enjoy experimenting with monoprint and relief printing techniques.

My main inspiration is the landscape, both rural and urban. I love to observe, interpret and record my surroundings. My subjects could be anything from the familiar farmland of my daily dog walks, to the wild grandeur of the Peaks and Lakes, and the spectacular and sometimes gritty cityscapes of Manchester and Liverpool.

I’m an enthusiastic member of Altrincham Society of Artists, and exhibit with them twice a year. I'm also part of the growing community of Manchester Urban Sketchers, and take part in various open exhibitions and outdoor painting events in the North West.

I was always "arty" at school, and I had intended to go on and study it further, but other life commitments meant that it remained an off-and-on hobby for many years. I took a few evening classes and drew pictures for friends and family, but nothing serious.

Then in 2014, I was asked to do some medical illustration (working in a medical library) and I decided to finally pursue art more seriously. I enrolled on a Graphic Design and Illustration course online, and studied for a year to complete a Certificate in Higher Education in 2015. I learned a lot about digital illustration and put that to good use. I then started some local adult education classes and rediscovered my love of painting and portraiture.

Since entering my first open art competition in 2018 I've really increased the amount of time I spend drawing and painting.
I work part time, but any spare time I have is spent creating artwork and developing my skills. I try to do some type of artwork every day. My dream would be to do it full time!

Although my subjects vary, my main passion is portraiture. I love being able to capture faces, likenesses and expressions. I love trying out different techniques and media and I'm happiest when I'm creating, learning, entering exhibitions and competitions, and meeting fellow artists and creators.

I am a Nottinghamshire based artist and my main focus is atmosphere and light. I work in a range of media and enjoy experimentation. My work is of an abstract impressionist style and I use colour, texture and light to create works that depict the essence and feeling of a place, object or person. I have been an artist all my life. I particularly enjoy creating work from my sketches made en plein air in the Derbyshire countryside.

A. Red Chrysanthemums
Gouache         52 x 62cm framed          £250

B. Structure and Fabric
Mixed media   Framed     £250

I usually paint semi abstract landscapes of Derbyshire because of its many emotional associations. However, during the winter months I sometimes turn to a second thread of work which focuses on domestic interiors, often of still lives based on loved objects in cheering bright colours. Flowers can produce a bolt of joy at any time, but especially in the dark days of winter.

Some of my still lives have a marked design element, others are more naturalistic. I chose Red Chrysanthemums for the exuberance of the flowers. I chose Structure and Fabric with its abstract design for the exuberance of the shapes and colours.

Watercolour             20 x 16 inches framed       £250

B. Chocolate Button (Awaiting image)
Oil on canvas          17 x 21 inches framed       £110

Painting, although relatively new to me, has become a constant and necessary part of my life, learning, experimenting, expressing and achieving. I was brought up to believe that if at first you don’t succeed, try again.so, try and try again, I do!

Life can be constant battle between light and dark, colour and monotone, serenity and anguish, beauty and beast. For myself, painting in its many forms, is my indulgence into my emotion of that moment. My space, my time, my escapism.

Loving colour above all else, I attempt to convey its illusive quality in speaking of my subject.
My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look into their personal world and see their colour. Painting provides me with joy and so I hope I can provide you with a little joy also.
